This morning Beam/Microsoft had a major announcement to make. That announcement was the rebranding of Beam.Pro, Microsoft’s answer to Youtube/Twitch streaming, as Mixer.
To go along with the name change, they announces some new features and benefits of going with Mixer as both a viewer and content creator. Several of the new features are is a Beta for the Mixer Create mobile streaming app, a new moderated channel of content on Mixer called ‘Channel One’, a new Mixer page on the Xbox One dashboard and perhaps the biggest drop of all – co-streaming with up to 3 other streamers simultaneously in one chat room. That last one is HUGE news and I think this guy will have to give that a shot. I think that this announcement coupled with the near non-existent lag is going to make some waves in the slightly crowded game streaming platform market.
Furthermore, XBox will be broadcasting their E3 conference in 4K UHD for those of you lucky people with a 4K television and internet provider to support it.
